Our
history
of excellence.
Filmtec was founded in 1964 in Fostoria, Ohio, as a magnet wire processing company. In 1968 under the guidance of Henry Hollingsworth, Filmtec began the manufacturing of wire spooling equipment.
Early units included multi-line annealing takeups and flat wire takeups. Filmtec’s first fine wire drawing machine was sold in 1982 and its initial intermediate drawing machine was released four years later.
In the mid 1980’s Filmtec began manufacturing multiple station taper-pak spool takeups for magnet wire enameling lines and rectangular wire takeups for copper enameling lines were introduced in the late 1980’s.
Filmtec was acquired by Fort Wayne Metals Research Products Corp in 2016. The new ownership, however, has not changed our focus on providing the industry with expertly engineered equipment at a fair price.
